ABOUT US

On April 13th, 1903, 25 delegates from 17 cities representing more than 8,000 Laborers met in Washington, DC to form the International Hod Carriers' and Building Laborers Union of America.

In 1955, the International began organizing non-construction workers, and as a result in 1965 the union changed its name to the Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA!) reflecting its expansion beyond the construction industry. Through the years, Liuna! has grown and prospered, and is now comprised of:
- Over 500,000 members
- 415 Local Unions
- 44 District Councils
- 9 Regional Offices
- 1 Canadian Sub-Regional Office

LiUNA's International Headquarters are located in Washington DC.

Original Charter granted to Local 130 September 11th 1911. Local 130 is Located in Scranton Pennsylvania and covers the following counties:
Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Columbia, Sullivan, Pike, and Wayne.
